Musicale closes Belle Stoutenborough Club year in Sidney

The Belle Stoutenborough Club capped its year with a May 20 musicale at secretary Mrs. Chas Callahan’s home. About sixty ladies attended. souvenirs, an ample program, and refreshments followed a varied musical lineup. members report strong interest for next year. Local notices report roof work on the sheriff’s house and multiple residents visiting Sidney from nearby towns.

Hostesses Host a Cat Themed Social Evening at Jones Home

Mrs Danforth Miss Davigan and Mrs Jones entertained thirty ladies at the Jones residence on Thursday. Guests met by a cat suspended by scarlet ribbon and a five live kittens debuting in polite society. Activities included a cat drawing memory game and a cat themed quiz with red and white decor followed by a five course luncheon.

Mrs. Lewis Willson hosted a Saturday children's party at their ranch a mile west of town. Guests traveled by conveyances, enjoyed a hearty meal, and left late afternoon tired but happy with fond memories of a well run celebration.

Decoration day exercises outlined with parade and service

The program begins at 10 with a parade led by the Sidney band, the G A R Post, schoolchildren, and civilians. They will visit the cemetery to decorate graves. Afternoon events in the Tobin Opera House include vocal and band music and an address by Rev. Frost.

Romero Held On Bank Defraud Charge In Buffalo Wyoming

C D Romero arrested in Buffalo charged with defrauding Bridgeport Bank. At a preliminary hearing before County Judge Tucker he pleaded not guilty after arraignment. He requested a 20 day continuance to prepare for trial, bond set at 5000, and he was jailed when unable to post.

Burned Platte River Bridge Rebuilt Fast

The Platte River bridge section burned previously was completed early yesterday to allow train passage. Despite high water and the need to bring in material machinery and workers the 560 foot replacement in three days is described as almost marvelous by the Alliance Times. Residents used every vehicle and horse for passenger mail and baggage transport at a good price while the bridge was out.

Breisch Promoted to Cheyenne Agency

E R Breisch, formerly Union Pacific agent at Sidney and longtime head at Laramie Wyoming, has been promoted to the Cheyenne agency. The Laramie Republican lauds his four years there, calling him one of the best agents and most accommodating officials, with Cheyenne’s office viewed as a higher salary and more important post.
