Decoration Day Observed in Sidney With Daylong Services
Decoration day exercises in Sidney drew many out of town visitors for cemetery ceremonies led by veterans. A morning procession formed to the cemetery with band, veterans, scholars, and townsfolk bearing flowers followed by a G A R ritual and floral tributes to the graves. An afternoon program at the Tobin opera house included prayers, a welcome, a Frost address, band music, and choral offerings.

Memorial Services Held at M. E. Church Sunday
Memorial services at the M E church were conducted by Revs Hageman and Leamer amid heavy morning rain. Special music by Lutheran and Methodist choirs plus organ by Mise Nettie Ackerman delighted veterans and attendees. Rev Hagemans sermon pleased many with fitting tribute to union soldiers. W J Crusen, veteran engineer between Sidney and North Platte, attended and assisted.

Herdon School Closes With Woodland Picnic and Program
The Herdon school closed Wednesday with a wood side picnic at Point of Rocks. Visitors joined with baskets to aid teacher Miss Washburn. Dinner was abundant though appetites reduced the spread to crumba and bones. A good program followed with fine recitals and a humorous dialogue. Games ended a pleasant day in the woods.
