One of Sidney s oldest landmarks the 40 year old Sol Willis Sr home was moved Monday to clear space for a new Texaco station planned to open August 1 at 14th and Illinois. Maddox Motor Company builds the six pump two bay station at a projected cost near 30000 with contractor Lawrence Brachtenbach. The old house relocated to 17th street across from North Ward School after wires were lowered for the move.

Huge Storage Addition Set For Kimball
A Burrus Mills spokesman said a 60 million bushel grain storage facility will be built in Kimball. Land near Kimball has been secured, and work will start immediately. The project aims to be ready before the next wheat harvest and will use a flat type storage rather than a typical elevator, approved for Wheat under the Commodity Credit Corporation loan. Kimball will serve a wide Panhandle and eastern Wyoming wheat region, with some inbound grain stored there.

VFW Poppy Sale Nets 660 Dollars Across County
A total of 660.69 was collected Saturday in the annual Buddy Poppy Sale held in Sidney and neighboring communities. Dust and rain drove workers indoors early, but organizers were pleased with the turnout. Ed Mitchell and his wife chaired the drive representing VFW Post and Auxiliary, thanking buyers and volunteers. Proceeds support the orphans home in Michigan veterans relief and local aid, with funds restricted to those purposes.
