C P Herboldsheimer, a 66 year old Potter farmer, chosen as Colonel for Fort Sidney Days 1954 by Potter Lions Club. He and his family have long Cheyenne County roots and farm about 2000 acres southwest of Potter. Queen candidates include eight nominees with new entrants Mickey Fees and Pat Harris. Tickets and buttons go on sale for 25 cents, with votes for queen at the Saturday dance June 5 in Sidney City Auditorium.

Drunk Driver Caught After Highway 30 Collision
A two car wreck on Highway 30 east of Sidney caused about 260 in damage and led to two arrests. Leroy Carew fled the scene but was later captured and fined 110 for drunken driving and no license. Dewey Laketa was fined 10 for permitting an unauthorized driver. Fr Albert Albel suffered 240 damage to his 1952 Chevrolet.

Three graduates at Sunol High School received diplomas in a commencement at the high school auditorium Thursday night led by valedictorian Linda Zalesky salutatorian Ruth Barnhart and Duane Namath. Frank J. Mattoon Sidney attorney gave the main address on Looking Forward and Arlene Armstrong played the processional and recessional. Reverend H R Thornhill led the Invocation and Benediction Superintendent Barney Carroll introduced the speaker and presented awards and S F Irwin president of the Board of Education awarded the diplomas. Baccalaureate was held Sunday evening with Rev Thornhill delivering the sermon.
