The Junior Senior banquet was held at the Pacific House last Friday with forty attendees. Decorations in pink and white complemented the seniors while carnations and roses adorned the tables. May Re-Canvass Hearing Ordered in Sidney
At a May 11 hearing in North Platte the city organization of Sidney sought to compel the council to re canvass the recent saloon license election. Judge Grimes granted an alternative writ of mandamus requiring the council to answer by May 20 and show cause for not re canvassing. The hearing is set for May 22 in Sidney if the judge is available. otherwise a new date will be set.

Obituary of Nancy J Scheer Passes in New Mexico
Nancy Jane Peter Scheerer born May 22 1832 in Sangleman County Illinois lived there until marriage to John Henry Scheerer on November 24 1855. They had nine children. She moved to Sidney in 1898 and joined the Methodist church for over 45 years. She died May 14 1916 at her daughter Hattie Reynolds home in New Mexico. Funeral held at son in law W Klein home in Sidney conducted by Reverend May with many friends in attendance.

The infant Elvira Evelyn Reker died May 13 1916 after a two week pneumonia illness. Born November 4 1915 in the city she passed at dawn Saturday. Funeral was at Dunkard church Monday with Reverend Jeungel officiating and pallbearers Dorothy Gould Ila Grosvenor Mary Gates Beatrice Krugsman. The Reker family receives community sympathy.

Sparks Family Reunion Breakfast Celebrates First Meal All Six Sons
JL Sparks and wife and four children of Omaha returned home Sunday after visiting relatives here. Their parents Mr and Mrs J C Sparks hosted a family dinner last Thursday six miles out, bringing together six sons and three daughters in law plus some grandchildren, totaling about twenty. It was the first time all six sons shared a meal together. The age spread noted that the oldest was married when the youngest was born. The occasion was fully appreciated.
