Insect Control Tied To House Cleaning Tips
Household pest control and cleaning go hand in hand says Clara Leopold, Extension Specialist. She advises cleaning surfaces before applying insecticides, using 5 percent DDT oil base spray in kitchens after removing contents, and 2 percent chlordane for cockroaches and ants, with thorough drawer and pantry cleaning to remove crumbs and attractants. Regular six month closet spraying helps curb clothes moths and carpet beetles.
