Sioux Ordnance Depot announces Armed Forces Day Open House with actual Nike Ajax and Corporal missiles on display to the public this Sunday. Gates open 12 30 p.m tours start 1 p.m with about 2000 visitors expected for missile and helicopter displays, train ride, film showings, and guided tours. All missiles will be inert with warheads removed for safety.

Charges changed in an assault case in Cheyenne County Court. Layton Maddox had assault and battery dismissed and faces new charges of accessory to an assault with intent to do great bodily injury. Clyde Kent of Sterling Colorado is charged with assault to do great bodily injury. Kent set for 10 a.m. hearing Monday. Maddox for 8 p.m. Thursday May 21. Both released on $100 bond.

Farmers Have 26 Days Until Excess Wheat Deadline

Former Sidneyite Gets Seven Years In Holdup Flop
A former Sidney man, 42 year old William Glenn Stankard of North Platte, was sentenced to seven years in the State Penitentiary for armed robbery. Nabbed minutes after a bar holdup in Omaha, his pistol slid from his waistband when drawn. Stankard, previously acquitted in 1956, had served terms in Canon City and Nebraska state prisons for robbery and related offenses. The case involved fugitive Kenneth Kitts of Omaha.

Funeral services were held for Linda Jean Rohlfing of Lewellen who died of leukemia at Oshkosh hospital. Born April 2 1949 she lived on the Rohlfing farm and attended Lewellen grade school.
