Packing Plant Is Renamed Now Under New Management

Bernie's Packing Plant in Sidney has been renamed Sidney Packing Co. Ed Haupt and George Nolde took over May 1 with Nolde as active manager and Haupt overseeing The Star Market and aiding at the plant. The sale aims to maintain local meat cutting service for Cheyenne County customers.

J. W. Bill Empson and wife acquire The Credit Bureau of Cheyenne County in Sidney. The Chap­pell residents previously ran an insurance agency in Chappell and he serves as administrator at Miller Memorial Hospital. Mrs Empson will manage daily credit bureau work in Sidney, with Empson planning to exit hospital admin duties soon.

Gurley Resident Albert Rehmer Dies at 71

Albert Wilhelm Adolf Rehmer 71 a Gurley resident for six decades died Wednesday in Logan County Hospital Sterling Colorado after a month there and a month in Cheyenne Wy Funeral services are set for 10 am Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church Gurley with burial in Salem Lutheran Cemetery Craig-Holechek Funeral Home in charge Memorials are directed to Grace Lutheran Church He was born June 27 1899 in Deshler Nebraska and moved to Gurley with his parents in 1909 He and Ida Kreinbring married December 5 1935 and farmed southwest of Gurley before moving to town He is survived by two daughters Lorene and Mrs Dell a Mae Oeltsen Scottsbluff two granddaughters four brothers and three sisters
