Sidney hosts teachers meeting and stage show Clouds
The Western Nebraska Association met in Sidney with many teachers and officials including State Supt. Fowler and Deputy McBrien. Miss Whitehead and Miss Hutchings presented papers. An evening performance of Clouds featured local talent led by Danforth and Mrs Danforth. Odd Fellows plan 85th anniversary observances after a funeral death altered plans.

Nebraska 640 Acre Homesteads Law Becomes Law
Congressman Kinkaid's bill to expand western Nebraska homesteads to 640 acres became law as President Roosevelt signed the measure. The districts affected include O'Neill Valentine Alliance Sidney North Platte and McCook with hundreds of thousands to millions of acres open. Applicants must meet citizenship, age, and land ownership rules and obtain township plats for filing.

William Stubt Dies After Cancer Battle In Sidney
William Stubt aged fifty died Sunday at St. Joseph hospital Omaha after a gastric cancer operation. A wagonmaker by trade, he came to Sidney in 1879, served as wheelwright, later ran coal and ice business and was village marshal. He leaves four children Alice Annie Ernest Freddie, two brothers Ernest and Fred, sister Minnie, and a will for his estate valued around 10 000 dollars. He was active in Odd Fellows Modern Woodmen and MACCABE Lodges.
