Maple Grove society roundup credits Mr and Mrs Earl Sharman and family and Mrs Julia Rasmussen with visits and meals. Bible Class attendees included Mrs Verne Sharman and others. A Farmers Union meeting gathered at John Olson home. Future event planned with Mrs Julia Rasmussen on Friday May 17.
Local families from Bridgeport Sidney Kimball and Sterling hosted or traveled for short visits from Saturday through Monday. Discharges and hospital notes mix with a May 7 community covered dish supper and a Mother’s Day program at Ordville Recreation Hall.
Wanda George attended Clairebelle Koester’s birth day party after school on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Elsen and family hosted a birthday supper for Mr. Nieman and Mrs. Wayne Elsen at the George Nieman home Sunday. Mrs. Muriel Crosby helped serve the Junior Senior banquet Friday. Gaylord Simms and family, plus other relatives, visited Sunday at the Cecil Hunt home. Wanda George stayed with grandparents M. M. Herbert Tuesday to Wednesday night. Plainview Club plans a May 8 Mothers Day program at Muriel Crosby’s home. Curtis Elsen sold and delivered a Piper Cub plane to Elgin Nebraska airport last Thursday. Mesdames Deaver, Brown and George assisted serving the Junior Senior banquet at St. Patrick’s auditorium Tuesday evening.
Mrs Bett Allington and Mrs Irene Cunningham accompanied George Allington to Denver on Wednesday. Mrs C W Zier and daughter Janis plus Mrs Firth Booth attended a Sidney show Wednesday. Mr and Mrs E Hill host cousin Miss Bessie Burt of Clay Center arriving from California. C W Zier and Sammy dined Thursday with Mr and Mrs Paul Booth. Mr and Mrs A J Fenske announce birth of a son Thursday evening April 25. Jerry Vacik returns to Rock River Springs after two weeks with brother Ben Vacik. Junior Senior Banquet at Sunol schoolhouse Friday night themed An Old Fashioned Garden. Junior decor featured a stone wall garden with waterfall and sweet peas. Senior colors orchid and white. Sky glow and candles set a soft moonlit scene as ladies in formal attire added to the beauty. Mothers of Juniors prepared a lovely dinner served by Sophomore waiters and waitresses. Mrs Dean Nieman visited from her parents home, and Sund Sunday School hosted a pot luck dinner at Mr and Mrs A A Fenske's. A program followed with gifts for each ex service man.
