Government grants retroactive 30 cent wheat bonus plan
The government on Friday made its 30 cent wheat bonus retroactive to April 3 for farmers selling wheat under the certificate plan. Farmers delivering under the certificate plan may also take the bonus but must accept the tax date, choosing either the market price at March 31, 1947 or the 30 cent bonus. If they gamble on higher prices, they can delay payment to June 15, 1946 through March 31, 1947 for a higher market price, otherwise they get the sure bonus and the current price.
