Official weather records show Sidney area received over five inches of precipitation and more than forty two inches of snow in the first four months of the year. January was exceptionally dry with only .01 inch of moisture and about a quarter inch of snow. March and April brought most moisture, delaying spring farm work but leaving soil conditions ideal for upcoming weeks. Western Nebraska saw a mild winter with no blizzards this year, and cooler weather is expected in parts of the state soon.

Stine Heart Victim Prompted Funeral Arrangements
