Charles Jenks Dies in Substation Accident
An 18-year old Sidney water department employee, Charles Jenks, died and his 22-year old brother John was badly burned when a lift rig contacted a 7500 volt line while installing water mains west of Sidney. Fire and police attended. funeral set for Saturday at the Methodist Church. Charles, born July 9 1934 in Missouri, had lived in Sidney since 1945 and was active in the Foursquare Gospel Church and the Sidney National Guard. Surviving family includes Jessie R. Jenks Sr., Jessie Jr., John, and Mrs. Robert Kies.
