Four Hurt In Highway 30 Crash East Of Sidney
A Monday afternoon collision on Highway 30 two and a half miles east of Sidney left four people injured and a 1952 Pontiac destroyed. Harold Waterman 30 of Chappell driver of the Pontiac was hospitalized for back observation. Harold Shepherd 35 of Sunol had a hand laceration. DeLois Stubbs of North Platte suffered a fractured ankle and collarbone with a bad leg laceration. Vivian Campbell 21 of Sidney endured a compound fracture of the right leg and possible back injuries. The crash occurred as a truck driven by Harvey Jacobsen of Sidney attempted a left turn into a pasture driveway and was struck in the left front by Waterman’s car as both were eastbound. The Pontiac rolled end over end several times, ending after 352 feet. The Pontiac was owned by McCormick Motor Co of Chappell and valued at about 3000 with about 50 in truck damage. Jacobsen and his passenger Charles Jacobsen were uninjured.
