No Far-Reaching 30 Highway Changes Planned This Year

Lincoln officials said funds for 1953 do not permit permanent rerouting or construction on Highway 30 near Sidney. Plans exist for work on No. 30 between Brady and Maxwell in Lincoln County east of North Platte, with no definite western projects. Rumors of rerouting around Kimball lack substance, though a long term master plan contemplates routing south of Kimball and crossing the Union Pacific right of way near Sunol and Lodgepole before veering south toward Sidney, subject to inter-state coordination and long-range development.
