It’s A Heck Of A Way To Return Home
A one vehicle accident near Sidney injures no one. Roger L Franzen, 30, of Gurley, drove a 1957 Chevrolet pickup off a snow slick county road ten miles east and 7.8 miles north of Sidney. He crashed into a ditch and tree, causing 225 dollars damage but no injuries. He ended up about 25 feet from his farm lane, nearly in his driveway.

Driver Hurt In Accident Near Lodgepole
Jack Sexton 35 of Whitesburg Kentucky was seriously injured and listed in fair condition at Memorial Hospital Sidney after a 1956 GMC pickup he drove left the road on Highway 30 west of Lodgepole. The vehicle rolled two or three times. Sexton was alone. Vehicle owned by Wm. R. Gary of Kansas City Missouri. He was en route from Portland Oregon to Kansas City. Highway was clear of ice or snow. No cause listed.

Season Ends At Happy Jack Ski Area April 4
The Happy Jack Ski Area closes on Sunday April 4 marking the end of the season. Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekends and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. The resort will allow non traditional items on the slopes and host canoe and novelty races to celebrate. Two inches of new snow this week left a good base and skiing on all trails.

Oil activity in Cheyenne County fell as three wells were dry or plugged. The No. 2 Studnicka in Range Field was abandoned. No. 1 Masterson and No. 1 Jung, wildcats in separate sections, were plugged. Banner County fared better with three producers, including Pan American’s No. 1 Van Pelt O and No. 30 Barrett Unit, plus Morwell’s No. 2 Mossberg.
