The Gurley Lions Club hosts the third annual talent show in the Gurley School auditorium at 7 30 p m with 24 acts across junior intermediate and senior divisions. First place winners advance to the district contest in Dalton in April. Funeral services for Glen T. Wilkins 75 of Scottsbluff were held at 2 p.m. Read-Maser Funeral Home with Charles Livingston officiating and burial in Fairview Cemetery. Odd Fellows Lodge 91 of Sidney conducted graveside rites. Pallbearers included W. W. Schulz William Hawkins and Oren Cox of Sidney. Born August 6 1889 in Brighton Iowa he married Mary Barkhoff August 10 1909 in Council Bluffs Iowa. He belonged to the First Christian Church and Odd Fellows Lodge 91. Survivors: widow two daughters Vera Yelm Scottsbluff Lois Brown Gering three sons Gail Gering Earl and Harold Las Cruces NM eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Final results from the South Platte district Future Farmers of America contests show Peetz students ranking high across farm mechanics crops and public speaking. Peetz Sterling Ft Morgan and others competed for eight team awards with four superior and four excellent ratings. John Stroh of Ft Morgan won first in public speaking. Snowy streets cause two minor Sidney accidents
Snow packed roads and limited visibility led to two minor crashes in Sidney yesterday. At 2:30 p.m. at Jackson and Tenth Streets Jerilyn Maddox, 22, of 541 Deborah Drive, stopped at a light when Donald Traux, 26, of 816 Osage Street, could not stop and rear ended Maddox’s car. No damage or charges. Around 7 p.m. Harlin Dormann, 50, of Oshkosh backed from near the Deluxe Motel to let a car in and struck Donald Vail’s 1962 Ford Thunderbird, causing about $95 damage. Dormann uninjured. no charges.

Breakins An Old Story At Two Firms
Two breakins were reported Tuesday morning to the Cheyenne County Sheriff. A Mobile Station in Dalton operated by Cecil Pritchett was entered through a restroom window, with no items reportedly taken though money was sought. In Gurley, Earl Leseig Skelly station saw entry through the east door with about 100 dollars of merchandise stolen including cigars cigarettes a torch kit and screwdrivers.
