Alfalfa Seed Trials Improve Yields on Western Nebraska Lands
F. Stephens reports Brett brothers of Sextorp Cheyenne county Nebras ka have tested alfalfa seeding methods over nine years. They compare broadcast seeding with drilling in 18 to 22 inch rows and 36 to 40 inch drills to grow a pure seed crop. They cultivate four to five times, drill 10 pounds seed per acre, and store moisture until August 1. They expect western Nebraska table lands to yield $20 to $30 per acre from alfalfa seed.

Agnes Kelley of Bridgeport Dies After Operation
Miss Agnes Kelley died March 5 after surgery for a tumor at St. Joseph's hospital following a visit to her aunt in Onlaba. She lived seven years in the western country and was loved for her strong character and sunny personality. She is survived by her sister Mrs. George Richardson of Orlando and her father Mr. Henry Kelley.

A Union Pacific dining car caught fire at Hilledale last Monday morning causing heavy damage to car and contents.
