Twenty five thousand trout released in Lodge Pole Creek
Twenty five thousand baby brook trout were released in Lodge Pole Creek west of Sidney last Friday from state hatcheries at Benkleman. Shipped in thirteen cans, only two fish were lost due to ideal shipping weather. A deputy game warden helped distribute them. The trout will be under protection until they mature in two years. Some citizens plan more releases and expect a strong fishing season. open season specifics and size limits for trout pike and other fish are noted.

Change Proposed for Black Hills Highway Name
L T Poole reports a suggestion from W D Fisher secretary of the Sheridan Wyoming chamber of commerce and Custer Battlefield Highway association to rename the North Star highway from Denver to Deadwood as the Denver Deadwood Highway with Sidney as a junction on the Lincoln highway. Fisher argues the new name would boost advertising attract tourists and draw Yellowstone traffic with Denver and Deadwood serving as strong markers and Sidney benefiting from the boost.

B M S Club Meeting Promotes Clinics and Americanization
The B M S club met with Mrs Pettit hosting and approved two major moves. They will sponsor another baby health clinic with two conferences yearly, next in May led by chairman Mrs McCleneghan. Cheyenne county shows progress in debt repayment with three year mortgage data compiled by County Assessor Paul Collart. Farm and town mortgages fell significantly from 1921 to 1923 while releases exceeded filings in 1923, indicating stabilization and land recovery. 1923 figures show 353 farm mortgages filed and 367 released, 144 town and city mortgages filed with 12% released, and 734 chattel mortgages filed with 723 released.
