County Highway Commissioner Bill meter said H L Tucke of Lodge Pole moved to cancel his grading contract for the Lincoln highway change at Lodge Pole. Tucke bid 20 cents a yard for dirt work. If cancelled, the project will go to the next lowest bidder, a Ylastings contractor who bid 244 cents. County bid 82 1/2 cents for grading. gravel bid 38 cents a yard for about two miles. Missing Gurley man eludes wedding plans to Scottsbluff
Sheriff McDaniel and County Clerk Otten were called to a Gurley farmhouse Sunday night over the disappearance of a young man who had gone to Scottsbluff days earlier to marry a girl from the Gurley area. Mystery surrounds death of Mrs Wilnes' brother in Norfolk
A.C. Bradley aged 57, brother of Mrs S J Wilnes of Sidney, died in a Norfolk hospital last Thursday night from injuries described after an apparent automobile mishap. Bradley’s death follows a sixty wedding anniversary for his parents, who are in their eighties, and authorities report little concrete detail as investigators probe the circumstances. Glen Bell of Norfolk High School saw Bradley distressed between 5 and 5:30 pm February 13 and Bradley said he had been hurt in a little automobile accident. He was assisted to a drug store and physician. the body was later taken to Wymore for burial.

Mrs. Elsie Hopkins, a former Sidney resident who died in Kearney on March 4, was brought to Sidney for burial. Funeral services were held at Bonham Brothers chapel with Rev. Kilburn officiating. A duet and solo provided musical tribute. Burial followed in Sidney cemetery. She was the daughter of Mrs. Nelson of Minatare and survived by her husband Lee and two small children in Bushnell. Mr. Hopkins is the son of Mrs. Charles Burkhart of Sidney.
