Balancing cattle rations with high protein concentrates
Farmers fattening beef cattle find corn plus a high protein concentrate often boosts gains. Corn protein lacks amino acids, so adding feeds like peanut meal in proper proportions improves growth. Chemists study protein types and amino acid balances to guide optimal feed mixes and potential by products as affordable supplements.

Formaldehyde Treatment for Smut Most Popular
Due to heavy oats smut losses, farmers plan seed treatment this year. The formaldehyde method will be used exclusively as others are less reliable. Buy only sealed cans with manufacturer stamps noting strength. Good formaldehyde contains 38 to 42 percent. Avoid large open containers to prevent gas loss.
