A brief item recalls a Nazi swastika flag set afire at the German consulate building. An unknown rescuer used a blow torch device from a higher floor. Consular staff extinguished the blaze quickly. The writer expresses mixed approval of the act and calls for removing Hitler symbols from public view, praising Austrian consul Mr Tlach who refused to display the flag and resigned. Three that tease the mind and mock the world
The piece riffs on Kilmer style wordplay faulting public figures and modern foibles. It quotes Three that says a golfer attains a three easily yet proclaims only God can make a three. It lampoons politicians and a dangerous, satirical note contrasts a theater of public life with everyday vices and the joke structure ends with a quip about drinking hitchhiking and spooning as auto dangers.
