Plan to Use Wheat Price Guarantee to Lower Bread Costs
Washington March 10 The 1.25 billion appropriation to guarantee wheat prices could be used by the administration to push down bread costs. The food administration has devised a flour subsidy plan to keep government price stable by having the grain corporation buy the entire crop. The corporation would sell wheat to millers at the guarantee price and purchase all milling output for a reasonable profit, then sell to bakers at a loss of 2 dollars per barrel.
