One of five nominees for four year council terms will be eliminated next Tuesday in Sidney’s city council primary. Four will remain for the April 7 general election. Incumbents Dr. C J Cornelius and Dr. C B Dorwart are joined by newcomers J L Thorpe Madeline Aufdengarten and Jack T Fish. Polls open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in six districts. results expected within a few hours. Voters may consult City Clerk Gordon Tobin for district locations and maps.

Rural Cemetery District Holds Election and Levy Plan
The Rural Cemetery District elected three officers for a two year term at a March 9 meeting in the bank building. Robert Ommen, Harry Lee and Wayne Campbell were chosen as Director, Secretary-Treasurer, and President respectively. A levy of one half mill for 1964 was approved. The Czech Slovakian Cemetery District joined to discuss petitioning an area into their district. Additional business included approving last year’s treasurer report and seeking a new water source with test holes to be drilled soon.

Sealed bids set if depot leasing allowed for oil exploration

Lions Club Zone Session Sets Talent Contest Date
The Lodgepole Lions Club hosted a Zone Two meeting on Monday night March 9 at the Legion hall led by Deputy District Governor Kenwood Andersen and Zone Chairman Clifton Berry. The talent contest was announced for Sunday March 15 at 2 00 PM in the high school gym with 22 entries across three categories. Judges include Frank Baca Richard Marker and Rockne Skinner. The Lodgepole High School Stage Band will entertain between curtains. The club also voted to sponsor a barbecue at the Old Settlers picnic this year.

Former Dalton Lady Injured In Bridgeport Crash
Mrs. Lillie Vick Richardson of Bridgeport was seriously injured in a three car collision on Highway 385 Tuesday afternoon. She suffered a fractured knee and wrist injuries, facial lacerations and bruises and is hospitalized at Bridgeport Hospital. Cliff Harves and Gwen Hart, both of Bridgeport, sustained chest and minor head injuries respectively as their vehicles were damaged.
