Rain and Snow Improve State Wheat Prospects
Rain and snow last week improved fall grain conditions in the state with some runoff on frozen ground while other areas absorbed moisture. Wheat fields were greening as the state Division of Agricultural Statistics said it is too early to gauge winter losses. Prospects for spring planting brightened as moisture levels supported seedbeds and germination. Farmers shifted to planting preparations amid stormy weather.
