Frederick C. Aldrich, petroleum engineer since 1948, arrives in Sidney to assume Sidney district manager duties as R. E. McMillen departs for Libya. Aldrich, born in Spokane, is a Colorado School of Mines graduate and WWII Army Corps of Engineers veteran. He will relocate his wife and three daughters after school ends.

Sidney Band and Kiwanis Sell Show Tickets for Charity
The Sidney High School Band joins the Sidney Kiwanis Club to sell tickets for the Stars of Tomorrow Show on April 24 at the junior high auditorium. One third of receipts help fund a Rose Festival trip. the rest supports Boys and Girls work including glasses, dental expenses, and hot lunches for needy children. The program features Cheyenne County youths and the band performs a short concert. Tickets are $1 and applications to participate are due Monday.

State Will Try Again To Sell West Sidney School Land Lots
The State Board of Educational Lands and Funds plans another round of selling 98 lots in Lodge Pole Creek Addition to Sidney valued at about 25150 dollars. Four lots have firm bids and 57 have tentative bids. Annexation tensions with Sidney linger from earlier efforts, but orderly residential development remains the goal. Thirty Cheyenne County residents have been mailed jury summons for the spring term of the District Court, beginning Monday March 23. The list will be narrowed and jurors announced on that date, with Judge John H. Kuns of Kimball presiding. At least two civil cases and possibly two criminal cases or more will be heard.

Two Bound Over To District Court
Two men were bound over to Cheyenne County District Court after preliminary hearings in County Court Tuesday before Judge C. W. Smith. L. J. Suitt of Sidney pleaded guilty to issuing a no fund check for 1695 dollars. Bond was set at 150 dollars. Suitt was returned from Fort Stockton Texas Monday by Deputy Genoa Morris. Kenneth M. Hyatt of Sidney pleaded nole contendere on charges of failure to pay support payments. His bond was set at 100 dollars.

Potter Senior Places Second in Nebraska Oratorical Finals
