Death Strikes Twice In Three Days In Sidney Family

Three Accidents Reported by Sidney Police Over Weekend
The Sidney Police Department investigated three accidents over the weekend including two hit-and-run incidents. At 12:15 am Saturday Richard H. Patten’s southbound car on 11th Avenue was rear-ended by Carol Littler causing $350 damage to Patten and $150 to Littler after Littler was cited for tailgating. Later two parked-car hits were reported: Ling Abrams’s vehicle on Osage incurred about $25 damage and Allen McGee’s car on Cedar suffered about $50 damage to the right rear.

James E Davison 85 dies in Sterling services planned
James E Jim Davison an 83 year resident of the Dalton community died at 85 Saturday in Sterling Colorado after months at Rose Arbor Rest Home. Funeral services are set for 10:30 a m Wednesday at Dalton Presbyterian Church with Rev Richard Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Dalton Cemetery. The Gehrig and Son Funeral Home handles arrangements. He was born September 4 1884 in St Paul Indiana. He married Flora Goding May 9 1908 and farmed west of Dalton. Surviving are two sons and three daughters, plus a sister brother and 12 grandchildren. Memorials may be given to the Dalton Rescue Unit.

Walter Cox 48 Killed In Idaho Traffic Crash
Walter Cox 48 longtime Idaho State Patrol trooper died Friday night near the Washington Idaho line when his car slicked on the highway and struck a train. He is survived by his wife and family of Coeur d Alene, his mother Mrs Clarence Cox of Sidney, and two brothers Oren and Alva. Funeral services were planned for Tuesday in Coeur d Alene.

Fire crews twice respond to Colton weed fire and city grass blaze
Sidney volunteers were summoned twice on Saturday. The first call at 11 35 a m came from the Richard Krueger farm at Colton for a weed fire with an electric fence as the probable cause and no damage. In the afternoon firefighters tackled a small grass fire at 15th and Cedar with no damage.
