Each Man Accused Other Of Theft And Slaughter Of Animal
Ray Tobler and Frank Stevens were found guilty of calf stealing by district court juries this week as the first two sessions of the March term ended. Tobler’s jury deliberated 45 minutes Tuesday for a guilty verdict while Stevens’ jury toiled over seven hours past midnight Thursday before a 7:30 a.m. verdict. Tobler claimed the calf was Stevens’s, and Stevens blamed Tobler, with both giving similar witness stories as the case unfolded through the week.
