Herman Schroeder and Dr. R. E. Roche were nominated for mayor at Sidney general caucus in the city auditorium. The crowd was large. Schroeder chaired the first nomination, Roche named next. Both names to appear on the ballot for the municipal election Tuesday, April 3. Council races include Greenlee versus Breternitz and Grabill versus Porter. Ward one nominated Greenlee Breternitz Sullivan Lockwood. ward three had Grabill Porter as the only council nominees. Voters in ward three urged no school board nominees from their district. Farrell opposes licensing in AAA wheat plan
George Farrell, chief of AAA wheat division, said licensing of farm production will not be part of future AAA programs. He spoke in Lincoln after a conference with W. H. Brokaw, noting that compulsory control questionnaires drew surprising support, but licensing is not proper. Farrell foresaw decentralization of wheat administration to state and county levels within three months. He cited about 54 million acres under current contracts and expected to discuss reopening the wheat contract signing campaign.

CWA Payroll Reductions Announced for County and State
Marshall Jones of the state CWA committee informs counties of wage allotment cuts for the weeks starting March 16 and 23. State totals drop to 18,500 then 16,500. Suspension notice set for March 31 transfers to Emergency Relief Administration. All feasible existing CWA projects may move to ERA, exempt projects to receive separate instructions. Preparations are underway for the Western Nebraska Music Contest and festival at Mitchell on April 7 with over 400 contestants expected.
