Car Collides With Freight Train At Union Pacific Crossing
Mrs. Gene Cole of Sidney suffered a fractured arm and severe injuries when her 1941 Chevrolet panel truck struck an eastbound freight train at the 10th Avenue Union Pacific crossing Tuesday night. The car was dragged 180 feet before demolishing. She was taken to a local hospital. No other passengers were aboard. In Cheyenne County a 1949 Plymouth driven by Mrs. Helen Schumacher of Cincinnati skidded on an icy Highway 30 six miles east of Sidney, upsetting into a telephone pole. Neither she nor her husband Robert were injured. damages estimated at 450 dollars.

The half million dollar expansion of Sidney Power Plant advances as the Nordberg engine, largest yet, arrives.
