Simmons Votes No On Mellon Tax Plan
In Congress Simmons opposes the Mellon tax plan while the House passes a revised tax bill. The measure passed 216 to 199 after a prior 153 to 261 defeat of the Mellon plan with Democrats backing Gardner and Republicans backing Longworth.
