The Sid ney Chamber of Commerce held its semi monthly banquet and business session at Union Pacific hotel with a larger turnout. Members backed plans for an experimental farm in Cheyenne county and discussed financing, while Guy Wy. Doran outlined entertaining the National Editorial association in June. Funds secured totaled 500 for irrigation work led by Charles D. Green, plus a four hour visit by editors and a lively musical program.

Sidney Debating Team Defeats Julesburg 2 to 1
The Sidney high school debating team won a 2 to 1 decision over Julesburg on Tuesday night in the high school auditorium. Team members Donald Livoni, Gwendolyn Jorgenson, and Lomila McCleneghan argued the affirmative on the Twentieth Amendment Child Labor question. Julesburg, previously undefeated in twenty-one debates, presented better main speeches but Sidney excelled in delivery and on the stand. Judges included Attorney Paul Martin, Rev. Samuel Light, and Judge Kahl with Hollis Kepler as chairman. The Boys Glee Club performed, and a luncheon followed. Next, Sidney meets Bayard on a bill related to Curtis Reed.

In Morrill county, Raymond Koller sought 2284.95 in damages after his car went into an open ditch during a detour from the main highway. The county attorney’s motion for a directed verdict was sustained and the jury was dismissed.

Little Child Dies Near Peetz in Bronchial Pneumonia
Vera Mae Ware seven months old daughter of Mr and Mrs George Ware died last Saturday at their home nine miles south of Peetz from bronchial pneumonia. Funeral services were held at Peetz with burial in the cemetery south of Sidney. Howard's Funeral Chapel conducted the arrangements.

The Sidney Nebraska Rifle Club held a meeting in the armory to enlarge membership and plan an inter city contest in April. Members and visitors attended as a detailed year plan was discussed. The club uses a 200 to 600 yard outdoor range in Olson pasture west of Sidney with gun ranges and armory access. Dues are 2 dollars yearly with ammunition and rifles supplied by the War department. medals are awarded by the National Rifle Association for marksmen.
