St Pat s Irishmen defeated Grant 52 45 to win the Class C district title at Ogallala and advance to a regional playoff at Lodgepole against Crawford. Coach Rollie Bevan s squad improved to 18 5 on the season. Vern Lubash and Mike Thorpe led the scoring with Thorpe 20 and Coupens 18 for Sidney. Osborne Oshkosh Potter and Mizner added key points as Grant battled throughout the game.

Gering Graders Win 38-30 Final over Sidney
The Sidney 7-8 graders fell to Gering 38-30 in the junior high basketball finals at Scottsbluff on Saturday. Gering led 23-10 at halftime, then outscored Sidney 20-15 in the second half. Sidney’s top scorers were Mike Nienhuser with eight and John White with seven. For Gering, Ron Brazel and Dennis Elliott each scored 13.

Peetz guard John Koester scored 77 points over two games as the Bulldogs defeated Sedgwick 86 63 and Merino 61 41 in Lower Platte Valley League play. The Nebraskaland Information and Tourism Division announces two must have publications. The 1964 Nebraskaland Events Table lists hundreds of activities statewide from rodeos to pageants.
