Four Ducklings Born On Leap Day At St George Ranch
A Moscova duck owned by Mr and Mrs William Schnell at the St George Ranch produced four ducklings on February 29. Usually hatching occurs in May, but this early brood arrived despite the bird’s disappearance before Christmas. The Schnells believe the mother nested in the barn and occasionally left to eat. One duckling did not survive.
