Police Prevent Theft At Prebles Grocery
Police early this morning halted a planned robbery at Prebles Grocery located at 14th Ave and Jackson St. A side door was battered but fled suspects escaped in sight of a patrol car. Authorities speculated two men may be the same shoplifters reported in Scottsbluff yesterday.

Frozen Man Taken To Denver Hospital
John Edmondson, 35, of Cement Oklahoma, the most serious casualty of the February blizzard, was moved from Sidney Hospital to the Denver VA Hospital after being found in a snowdrift on February 20. Doctors fear the loss of all his frozen toes but hope to save feet and some fingers and hands. Edmondson's general condition is listed as good.

Theft Suspect Bound Over To District Court
One of two suspects in the Rose Hardware Store break in Potter late last November was bound over to Cheyenne County district court on breaking and entering. Bill Moncrief, 22, Sterling, pleaded not guilty and was held on a 1500 dollar bond after waiving a preliminary hearing. Plate Sales Up But Receipts Fall in Cheyenne County
