Flood Control Study By City Council On Monday
Sidney officials asked for a flood control study after Lodgepole Creek flooded twice in June causing erosion and damage. City Manager Tom Coffey engaged Fulton-Cramer of Lincoln to conduct the study. Council also approved a 1965-66 budget of 636,660 for operating costs with a 16.444 mill levy, approved remodeling by Louis Wittrock for 14,000, and a new sign for Star Market. Planning commission approved four zoning changes with a July 12 hearing. Rezonings involve McFadden addition and Original Town areas to C-1 and C-2 zones. Gasoline, light bulbs, and library equipment bids awarded to local suppliers. James O. Thompson reappointed to the library board for five years.
