Mrs R S Johnston, 43, wife of prominent Kearney physician, died about an hour after a car overturned two miles south of Sidney while carrying her daughter Margaret, 13, who was severely hurt. Dr Johnston and two other daughters witnessed the crash as the vehicle lost control in a dip. The cause cited a heart ailment and possible pulmonary disturbance. daughter suffered lacerations and back injury awaiting X ray.

Mrs Wood Dies At 79 On Sidney Farm
Mrs Mary Mitchell Wood, 79, died of a stroke at her home two miles south of Sidney on Monday evening. She came to Sidney in 1918 after her husband’s death and lived on the farm south of town. Born in Canada in 1879 she later moved to Clay Center after marriage. A brief funeral was held Wednesday at the home Rev J H Bicknell officiating, with burial in Clay Center. Surviving are four children Maud George and Earl of Sidney and Mrs Winnifred McPhee of Denver. Rice funeral service in charge of local arrangements.
