U P Seeks Permission To Close Lodgepole Station

Union Pacific Railroad asks the State Railway Commission to discontinue its Lodgepole agency station. The case is set for July 22, 1967, with Chappell and Sidney offices able to handle accounts and service. Freight revenues for 1964 1965 and 1966 are cited, and public comments are invited before the hearing.

Funeral set for Jerry Oliverius in Cheyenne County

Funeral services for Jerry Charles Oliverius 37 of Cheyenne County will be Tuesday at two from Gehrig and Son Funeral Home with Rev Henry York officiating. Interment follows at Greenwood Cemetery. He was born July 19 1929 in Lodgepole and lived on a Sunol area farm with his father. His mother died in 1963, a brother in 1959. Survivors include his father a niece and a nephew. He farmed except for two years in the Armed Forces. The family suggests Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for memorials.

Hog Bids Are Safe Feature at Sidney Sale

The Saturday sale at The Sidney Livestock Sales Pavilion featured strong hog prices with 215 lb hogs toping at 22.30 while 200 to 240 lb hogs sold 21.80 to 22.15. Sows ranged 16.10 to 17.50, feeders 22 to 27.50, and average weaners 11.25 to 13.75 per head with smaller ones 3 to 7.

Mrs. Clayton S. Radcliffe 70 died unexpectedly in Yuma Arizona over the weekend. A Sidney native, she moved to Yuma a year and a half ago. Funeral from Christ Episcopal Church Thursday at 10 AM. Kimball Trooper Recovers Stolen Car in County

Nebraska Safety Patrol Trooper Larson of Kimball stopped a stolen 1962 Corvair west of Kimball and arrested two suspects, David Schrum of Hollywood California and Joseph Taylor of Jacksonville Florida. Schrum claimed hitchhiking before Taylor hid in the back seat. In a separate patrol incident a crane truck rolled into a ditch causing $1,000 damage. Perry L. Brown of Cheyenne Wyoming, driving a 1965 International, pulled near the shoulder to meet oncoming traffic 1.6 miles east of Gurley.

Death of Mrs Mary Esther Davison Mother of Mrs Triska

Mrs Mary Esther Davison mother of Mrs Clarence Triska of Sidney died at Memorial Hospital after a three day stay. A native of McQuan Neb she was daughter of William and Mrs Johnson and married William Davison on December 25 1888 at Alma Neb. She belonged to the Methodist Church and Rebekah Lodge. Funeral at Ogallala Methodist Church Wednesday at 2:30 with burial in Ogallala Cemetery. Gehrig and Son Funeral Home in charge. E and H Savings Bonds sales in Cheyenne County totaled 36307 for May raising January May to 324627 per H Glenn Spearow county chairman. By end of May the county hit 35 percent of its yearly target as state sales reached 5386970 in May and 34230166 for five months equaling 46.7 percent of the 1967 goal.

Harvest To Run Later This Year In Nebraska

State Department of Labor announces the year’s Nebraska wheat harvest will start one to two weeks later than normal. Cutting expected in Red Willow County by July 1 if weather dries.
