Hail storms damaged an estimated twenty-five percent of Cheyenne County’s winter wheat on a quarter of a million acres. Freak Accident Causes $1500 Damage Near Gurley
A one mile south of Gurley freak mishap early Monday damaged an empty gas transport, causing a shaft break and fire. The Dick Truck Lines vehicle from Riverton Wyoming, driven by Walter E. Loghry of Dalton, jackknifed and burned in a field, injuring no one. Cheyenne County Sheriff W. W. Schulz reported the incident, with most damage to the cab and a damaged telephone pole and wires.

Tornado Hits Sidney Airport Damaging Hangers
A tornado struck one mile south of Sidney shortly after 2:30 PM injuring one person and heavily damaging the Sidney Airport. It demolished hangers Number 4 and 5 and wrecked an airplane in hangar Nine, ripped lines, and caused extensive property damage at a nearby farm. Mrs. Ermin Prchal suffered injuries in a trailer home on airport grounds and was taken to hospital.
