Sidney and Cheyenne county host over three hundred National Editorial association members for a post convention tour. They toured Black Hills irrigated valleys and the Cheyenne county wheat belt, enjoyed a waffle breakfast, and heard speeches as a large machine parade began the day.

Wyoming Cavalry Troop Sets Out for Fort Riley on 600 Mile March
Four companies of cavalry with commissary and 300 mounted men camped in Sidney for a long hike from Fort D. A. Russell Wyoming to Fort Riley Kansas. About 500 officers and men, 200 extra horses, and 100 mules travel in stages over roughly a month. They left amid crowds that included National Editorial association members and will replace 1100 men en route to Fort Russell upon arrival.

Funeral of Harry Armstrong Held Tuesday
The funeral for Harry K. Armstrong, who died Friday at his home, was conducted Tuesday afternoon at the M. B. church with Rev. Louis Raub officiating. A large crowd attended from near and far, and floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. The ladies’ quartette sang Meet Me At the Portal, In the Sweet Bye and Bye, and Lead Kindly Light. Burial followed in Sidney cemetery.

Farmers' Band at Gurley to wear natty uniforms
The Cheyenne County Farmers' band of Gurley will debut new blue coats with gold trim and matching caps, white trousers, provided by A J Hepner Clothing. The 28 piece group will appear in the Fourth of July celebration at Chappell, showcasing their fine musical organization.

Funeral of William Leichty Held at M E Church
The funeral of William Leichty a Sidney resident and pioneer was held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church. Rev Louis H Kaub officiated and preached the sermon with the Indies quartet singing hymns familiar from Mr and Mrs Leichty’s services. A large crowd attended and many accompanied the body to Sidney cemetery for the last rites. Leichty born November 13 1848 in Allenville Pennsylvania married Elfyra B Lyttle in 187? and spent life in the community.

St Paul Ladies On Tour With National Editors
Mrs C M Bodin and Miss Ferol Tyler of the National Editorial association praised Nebraska during a Sidney visit. They expected western frontiers but found an up and coming city, with six shooters and scalping knives a thing of the past. Sidney Boy Narrowly Escapes at Krueger Lake
George Jones, a Sidney youth, nearly drowned at Krueger Lake during a Farmers Union picnic. Richard Chaney, son of Mr and Mrs Al Chaney, spotted him in distress, rowed a boat to the spot, and pulled him aboard safely. Jones recovered with no lasting harm.

Semi annual meet of grain dealers set for Sidney
The Colorado Grains association will hold its semi annual meeting at the Country Club in Sidney next Sunday. Delegates from grain companies and elevators across the region, plus commission men from Omaha Kansas City and Denver, will attend for a fellowship oriented gathering. Entertainment includes dances motion pictures and club links. A rainbow trout dinner at Cedar Creek farms will be served. The aim is to foster acquaintance, settle differences and promote cooperation ahead of the harvest.
