44 Years Ago Assessors Report Surprising Values
Returns from assessors reveal curiosities in Cheyenne County with no county carriage over 15 dollars and gold watches fully taxed. Cattle and women’s diamonds are down, dogs booming revenue, no stallions found in the horse breeding center, while a land purchase by Charles Putenney signals optimism. A Sidney youth adds to Dr. Gibson’s practice, and a thief breaks into Joe Herbert’s shop stealing taps and dies valued at twenty dollars.
