Paul L. Martin of Sidney was elected president of Nebraska University Alumni Association at the annual roundup Monday. Eleanor Cook of Chadron was named vice president and Victor H. Halligan of North Platte joined the executive committee for three years. Five directors, one from each congressional district, were elected to two-year terms: Mrs. Helen Robertson of Plattsmouth, Ford Bates of Omaha, Rich Richards of Fremont, William Sloan of Geneva and Clarence Wright of North Platte. Martin is a 1915 graduate and has long been active in alumni affairs. Nebraska postmasters convene in Sidney for their 27th annual convention Monday and Tuesday with over 200 expected, possibly 400 attendees with spouses. Program includes welcome remarks, readings, band performances, reports, and a banquet.

A 40 million bushel winter wheat crop in Nebraska is predicted in the June report of A E Anderson state and federal crop statistician. Winter wheat condition is 83 percent normal. Prospects improve across the belt after early May drought, with rye at 87 percent and corn planting delayed by wet weather. Rattle Snake Killed On Sidney Front Walk
A baby rattlesnake about fourteen inches long was killed on the front walk of a Sidney home within three blocks of the business district on Sunday by George Mulets. The snake, though young, had a button and could bite. This marks the first poisonous snake killed within Sidney city limits this year, as garter snakes and Black Widow spiders have been more common.
