Judge Perry Dies in Gering at 68
AP reports Panhandle jurist C. G. Perry of Gering died unexpectedly at home Sunday. The 68 year old judge served the 17th Judicial District since 1938 and held prior roles including Bridgeport mayor and councilman Morrill County Attorney and city attorney. He was a former Nebr. attorney general aide and led Western Nebraska Bar Association and Nebraska State Bar Association.

Veteran Deputy Bart Taylor to Retire After Long Service
Bart Taylor a Cheyenne County deputy sheriff will retire by July 1 after a career starting as a Dalton marshal and returning as deputy in 1951. Sheriff Bill Schulz announces Gene Morris will succeed him. Taylor helped crack the William Moore murder case in Sidney in 1937 and led investigations into the Rose Hardware burglary at Potter.
