Airport to Get VORTAC System at Sidney Airport
Bids will be opened in about two weeks for a VORTAC installation at Sidney Municipal Airport. Construction cost for the building under $25,000 with equipment around $200,000. The system will aid pilots by establishing bearings and position relative to the field and replace an existing directional system six miles west. FAA says the new VORTAC will modernize the airport’s services for private and commercial aircraft.

Clyde Gorsuch Dies at 47 in Kimball Rites
Clyde L. Gorsuch of Sidney dies at Veterans Hospital in Cheyenne aged 47. He served in World War I and is survived by a widow Norma McDowell and three sons, plus nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Allen Funeral Home in Kimball with military graveside rites.
