Nebraska farmers saw prices for crops and livestock largely unchanged for the mid May period, though overall levels remained over four percent below the year before. The livestock index stayed at 247, crops at 204. hogs averaged 14.20 per cwt, cattle 19.00, sheep 5.20, with wheat 1.91 a bushel, corn 1.15, and grain sorghum 1.66 per cwt.

Fire call interrupts regular meeting of town firefighters
A fire call at 8 05 p m Thursday interrupted a regular meeting of town firefighters. The blaze burned a shed on Highway 30 east of town, housing pigs, with weeds along the Union Pacific right of way posing a potential threat. Scholes to Head Salt Lake City Geology Offices
Marion W. Scholes of Marathon Oil Co. Sidney District is named district geologist for the Salt Lake City District effective July 1.
