Francis Edward Rose 51 died Saturday in Dalton Hospital. Funeral services were to be held at Craig Mortuary with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. He was a longtime resident of Dalton Gurley area, member of Grace Lutheran Church Harmony Lodge Royal Arch Masons and other orders, and served 14 years on the District 138 school board. Survived by wife Lorena three daughters two sisters one brother and mother.

Gurley voters will decide on a proposed 100000 bond issue to expand the school with four more classrooms and a shop. The plan would give each elementary grade its own room, replacing eight classes in four rooms. Bonds would be repaid over 20 years at up to four percent interest.

Hitch Hikers Take $100 From Kimball Man
Two airmen, Ro bert D. Wyatt 17 and Jerry Benefield 18, stationed at Warren AFB, are in custody for alleged kidnapping and robbery of Kimball resident R D Van Patten after hitch hiking a ride on Highway 30. Van Patten was robbed of $100, held captive about 100 miles south of Maxwell, and ejected near Elm Creek. Benefield was later found asleep in a motel in Elm Creek, while Wyatt was captured after a night search. Benefield fled and $90 of the money remains unrecovered.
