Farm Efficiency and Fertilizer Use Urged by Committee
The Middle West Soil Improvement Committee warns that unless farmers adopt efficient cost cutting methods and higher yields per acre, profits will shrink in a down market. Fertilizer use is highlighted as a key factor, with every dollar invested often returning three to five dollars through increased crop value and better feed. An agricultural event is planned featuring films on beef cattle and a guided Angus cattle outing along highway 27 from Rushville Niobrara area. Also noted are mentions of Mexico’s 5,000 Indian ruins and a tip on whitening discolored aluminum by boiling apple peelings.
