Potter Man Killed by Tourist Car on Highway 30
An 83 year old Potter man, Charles M. Shaw, was killed instantly about 8:15 am Tuesday after being struck by a tourist car driven by Mrs. Marie Norman of Coos Bay, Oregon, on Highway 30 at Potter. Shaw had just left a truck and stepped onto the road, fell onto the highway, and was hit by the right front fender. Cheyenne County Attorney Jack Knicely said the death was accidental and no charges will be filed. The funeral will be held Friday at 2 pm at Potter Lutheran Church with Rev. W. Gies officiating.

A Sidney girl eight year old Gwen dolyn Reiners died at 8 p.m. Tuesday after five months of a fatal bone disease. Diagnosed in March the illness left her bedbound and in pain except for a brief spell after watermelon shipments revived her. Her courage inspired many as she battled until the final night.
