Polio in the Panhandle and Western Nebraska Outlook
Dr. Fred Long reports no polio cases in Cheyenne County but notes fifty seven western Nebraska cases, with Dawes and Scotts Bluff counties most affected. He urges good nursing, early care, and possible hospital support, while stressing transmission via fingers, foods, flies, and feces. He advocates pasteurized milk and daytime indoor restrictions for children during heat. Local sanitation and public bulletins are emphasized as essential in controlling polio locally.
