Agencies' dispute delays oil leasing at former Sioux depot
A jurisdictional clash between the Interior Department Bureau of Land Management and the General Services Administration halted bid openings for oil rights on the former Sioux Army Depot in Cheyenne County. Twenty three bids were entered, but bids will be sealed and postponed until responsibility for selling leases is resolved, delaying exploration funds for bidders and possibly two to three years. The delay comes as other drilling activity continues nearby in Kimball and Scottsbluff Counties amid wet weather slowing operations.

Light bulb listed as fire cause in Sidney blaze
